Sun Squad

Sun Squad is the newest seasonal brand at Target, celebrating all of the joy and happiness summer brings. We commissioned typography and worked it into this mark that quickly brings a smile to your face. The packaging is bold and colorful, alongside beautiful photography that highlights the best parts of summer.

Just for Fun

A collection of lettering and illustration explorations that I do on a regular basis to post on my Instagram. Sometimes they’re deep and paired with writing, and sometimes it’s just for fun.

Hearth & Hand

Target had an amazing opportunity to partner with Chip & Joanna Gaines on a new home brand focused on the modern farmhouse aesthetic. I worked with a lettering artist on the script typography of the logo, and assembled a memorable mark to represent the brand. Alongside Angela Leidall, we designed a packaging system for a broad range of home products.

Día de Muertos Collection

I was very fortunate to lead the logo and packaging design for an assortment of products for Día de Muertos, a traditional Mexican holiday. In order to authentically represent the assortment, we worked very closely with multicultural business partners inside of Target. We also worked with the copywriter to identify moments on the package where it was important to use Spanish instead of English.

Wondershop

Wondershop is Target's owned brand that celebrates all things holiday. Over the years it has evolved into an all-encompassing holiday experience for our guests, playing in nearly every category of the store. The packaging comes in two colors: red packaging for more basic items, and white is for our more trendy products that need more of a frame to elevate the product. Across the assortment, there are special details such as unique snowflakes and flourishes on the back and sides of packages and a product-specific poem on the back that tells the brand’s story.

Hyde & Eek! Boutique

On this project, I worked alongside Ross Bruggink to assist in designing packaging for Target’s Halloween owned brand. One of my favorite parts was working closely with our art directors and photographers to develop a photo style that truly encompassed the spirit of Halloween. We wanted our costumes to look fun and stylish in the way only Target can.

Minneapolis Branding

In 2017, I was selected to participate in Command X, a live design competition that takes place at the AIGA National Conference. Contestants are given a very limited amount of time to design against a specific prompt. The first round was to design a logo for Minneapolis. No pressure. My concept utilized custom typography inspired by all of the warehouses and factories of the past, paired with organic and layered illustrations that represents the vibrancy and diversity of the present.

Miscellaneous

All of the little things that I wanted to include, but were too small to live on their own. In order: branding for my dog’s Instagram (yes, I’m that person), illustrations used for Target HQ gift shop merch (yes, we have a gift shop), and two sets of lettering used in various workshops and lectures I’ve given.
